Testimonials

These are excerpts of emails received from Cornerstone Cattle Marketing School attendees and people who have purchased our DVD set:

Ann,

My husband and I have both been through your Level 1 Marketing School; my husband in September 2010 and I attended in November 2011. The methods we learned and knowledge we gained through your class are invaluable to us and our ranching operation, to say the very least. We came home and put the things you taught us into practice. I know we wouldn't have been able to make a living and survive on our family ranch had we not spent some time with you. We could never thank you enough for equipping us with the knowledge necessary to prosper and thrive in the cattle industry.

New Mexico, 2012

Ann,

Not sure if I thanked you. But I am now. THANK YOU. I have no IRA's, no 401K's, no life insurance savings account. I drew it all out about a year ago and invested it in cattle. AND I Thank God every day for your advice.

No sarcasm here. Just being very appreciative and saying Thank You.

Kansas, 2011

Ann,

I just wanted to let you know how great the sell/buy cattle marketing has worked in my cattle operation. I probably have made more money in the past year than I did in the previous five. I have personally been in the cattle business in the fall of 2002, until I learned how to MARKET CATTLE I beat my head against the wall trying to figure out how to make money. I remember the night I started watching the videos. It was so simple that I could not believe I was making it so hard.

Later, I attended the marketing school you taught at Wilburton and opened my eyes to even more opertunities. I just renewed my subscription for another year and looking forward to attending the Level 2 course soon.

Oklahoma, 2011

Ann,

Thanks again to you for your DVDs and everything you've taught me. I've currently got nearly 200 550lb calves out on grass. Your DVDs are, without a doubt, the BEST money I've spent in a long time.

Kansas, 2011

Ann,

The reports are worth every penny. I used to try and keep data like this myself on spreadsheets. It is much nicer to just click and print. So I guess it is a win/win...I like that.

Nebraska, 2011

Ann,

This is so cool. A whole new world has opened. It's amazing, $500 seemed like a lot but it's the deal of a lifetime. You have added HOURS to my day because I no longer need to be by a radio or computer to see what "corn did today", "cattle did today", etc. I even sleep better because that stuff doesn't matter. It just does not matter.

Thank you for making the change possible,

Kansas, 2010

Hey Ann,

Thanks for having the Level 2 class. Your information was gold. I've never lain awake worrying about my stake in the livestock business but I had thought a lot about how to go about business if things get bad as far as the country and economy. Now I feel much better.

Thanks again for everything you do.

Kansas, 2010

Ann,

We are car dealers by trade but had dreamed of owning a “real” working cattle ranch since we were kids. Bought 4000 acres 9 years ago (burning the mortgage this Nov – PTL) and have it equipped and stocked with 225 cow /calf pairs. Just bought 170 fall calves averaging 460# to mix in a rotation of profit turns. Love the ranch, it’s our escape from the intensity and craziness of the car business, but we would like to see if it can be a profit center and not just a dream. Your inventory management and inventory turn makes sense to me – we live and die on inventory turn. The car business has several great inventory management tools that track the sweet spots in terms of days in stock, package options, geography, price point, etc. Lots of money on the table in inventory management.

Thanks for your insights. I enjoyed the conference. As is always the case, execution will be the key.

Ann,

The people that I have already met through your Cornerstone marketing network have been amazing. This has been a life changing opportunity for me and my family for sure. We are seriously considering expanding our operation to accommodate some new customers.

Kansas, 2010

Ann,

I recently purchased your marketing DVDs and just finished watching them and I want to tell you first off that I was absolutely impressed with your marketing method. I am a young rancher just starting out and I feel that this might just be one of the biggest differences in whether or not I will be able to make a living in this business, and I can tell you that I am excited to start selling and buying cattle!

South Dakota, 2010

Ann,

I've been wantin’ to tell you this for a while. I'd have called but the speaker on my phone ate its pigs. I told you once that I wanted to have my yard, and all the cattle in it, paid for by the time I was thirty-five. Friday was the day. The coffee at the bank tastes better when you don't owe them any money any more. Now the banker and I may be friends for another year yet, as I'm exploring the idea of doing a 200 head expansion. I can have the expansion and all the cattle paid for in one year. If I do the expansion and get it paid for and all the cattle too, in one year, I'll be 34. Thanks Ann for your teachings. We are having a baby in January, and I'm comfortable with my wife quitting her job.

Nebraska, 2010

[Using the phrase “ate its pigs” to refer to a broken piece of equipment is quite possibly the single greatest colloquialism I have ever heard. It will be entering my regular-use vocabulary effective immediately. -Ann]

Ann,

Thanks for the opportunity to view the Livestock Marketing school DVDs. I received the DVDs in the mail Friday afternoon. After I plugged in the first DVD, I could not stop watching. Except for a few necessary things, like eating, doing some must-do chores and getting two hours sleep Friday night, I watched the school straight through. It was great, now just to do it!

Florida, 2010

Ann,

What a great weekend. Thank you for opening my eyes – can’t wait to educate our homeschooled children, especially our recently graduated daughter who does NOT want to go to college and be indoctrinated.

Stay with our Lord and keep talking about all Truth. Everyone needs to hear it.

North Dakota, 2010

Ann,

I finished the DVD this weekend. The information was outstanding and the quality of the tape was very impressive. I have always tried to sell livestock (cattle & sheep) when I had an opportunity. Of course, I did not capitalize on every opportunity because some of my stock was “too good to sell” (LOL). However, selling livestock is one thing but knowing what to replace them with is a different story. Thank you for giving me the information and the confidence to use it. I will test drive the website this week and see how it fits my operation. Thanks again.

North Carolina, 2010

Ann:

I wanted to say thank you so much for the school. The way I best described it to some of my customers is that normally I hit 30 to 45 minutes and get bored and drowsy….THAT DID NOT HAPPEN WITH YOUR CLASS. I am not easily impressed but your presentation and enthusiasm won me over pretty quick.

I also have a B.S. in Mathematics and the numbers you presented do not lie. The math was accurate and simple. I already talked to a couple of my younger customers and recommended that they look at attending one of your classes soon.

Kansas, 2010

Ann,

My partner and I are both really excited about the cattle markets since we have implemented the sell-buy practice. It has helped us tremendously buying calves and made us rethink our bred cow purchases 180 degrees.

Thanks

Kansas, 2010

Ann,

I attended one of your schools four years ago. After all that time I finally discovered what is wrong with your teachings....you didn't prepare me for all the taxes I am now faced with paying because I made so much money.

Nebraska, 2009

Ann,

I just renewed my subscription to your website for savvy cattle marketers. In the last year since attending your school we have rolled 400-500 calves through our lot. We have lost 2. We made money every time and traded anywhere from 20 to 60 days, depending on when we could replace at a profit. Your websites are so valuable to our operation and the entertainment value is priceless. Just keep up the good work and stay in the light, and do not “eat the deodorant”.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and God bless.

Missouri, 2009

Ann-

I thoroughly enjoyed spending some time with you in Dodge City. Unless I am missing something this is a no- brainer; allow the actual sale results to show me the “in demand” weights to sell and “out of favor” weights for my buy opportunities.

I am 2 years into the cattle business, while I continue my career. Let me share a little as to why I had interest in buying and ranch and owning cattle. I see this “profession” as a bunch of people who look at it as a very low paying “job”. When I see a “profession” with millions of acres of ground, millions of head of cattle and an average age of a “rancher” over 65, I got excited. There is no one coming up thru the pipeline. Combine this with knowing that “a very high percentage” of the current ranchers are not using even simple business strategies for making decisions. Most guys Ann, don’t see a way to make money ranching. They have bought into “bigger is better”, use a buy and hold strategy that results in one “payday” per year and have put no thought into how to use grazing/water/pasture size changes to their carrying capacity.

I appreciate the rare chance to spend time with other people who have put some thought into their profession. You are a very sharp young lady with a lot of continued upside potential. I also believe you have figured out that an attractive, well informed lady can have a huge leg up on the good ‘ol boys.

I know that I am only confirming things that you already know. Thanks for sharing your expertise. I hope our paths will cross again in the near future.

Texas, 2009

Dear Ann,

Many thanks for the great training you put on this past weekend. I spend a lot of both professional and personal time teaching people, and I sometimes get discouraged when I learn that not all of the people I instruct don't always apply what they've learned. Please know that my Dad and I WILL be putting what you have taught us to use VERY SOON. It was also very encouraging seeing the young minds full of mush in the back in class. It gives us hope for the future of agriculture.

Please don't let up on your students concerning debt. Debt is a curse and is bondage (at least according to the Bible). There's nothing worse than having a bank or the Federal government as a "partner" in your operation. I've seen this tragic situation play itself out again and again over the past nine years. If you know someone who thinks you need to borrow a hatful of money to make money, send them to me, and I'll straighten them out.

I'm also glad I'm not the only one who has the guts to tell young men it's absurd to send your wife to work in town so that their husbands can live out their dream to "cowboy". Husbands have an obligation to provide for their family. Everybody in my family who is in production agriculture is subsidized by their schoolteacher/bank teller wife, and it SUCKS! That reason, and the griping of the old farts at the coffee shop who said you can't make a living raising cows, kept me from pursuing production agriculture as a profession when I was younger. Now that I know how to use 4th grade math and a little bit of algebra to make a living, I know that's a bunch of horsequeeze. Through a lot of hard work, planning, and God's grace, I'll be able to transition from working for the Feds to having my own business in a field that I love, my children won't have to grow up in town, and my wife won't have to get a job in town subsidize it all, either.

It's always great to see someone fulfilling God's calling on their life, and doing it so well. May His face continue to shine upon you.

P.S. Dad thoroughly enjoyed his head massage. I just hope I'll get one when I come back for a refresher in a few years!

Oklahoma, 2009

Miss Ann,

I wanted to thank you for putting on a great class at OKC. You have really opened our eyes to the endless possibilities in the cattle business.

Oklahoma, 2009

Ann,

My cohorts and I gained a tremendous amount of knowledge about marketing cattle during the past two days. It was an intellectually stimulating experience. Two of us are still sitting here in our motel room discussing to content of the past two days’ seminar. Thanks Ann.

Iowa, 2009

Ann,

My wife and I are totally supported by our cattle and farm operation now and we have three months of living expenses in an emergency fund plus we are two months ahead on our household budget. Yes, a written budget that we stick to every month. We are not doing this on multi-semi loads a week but with a 32’ gooseneck and going to two local sales a week.

Ann, keep fighting the norm! Don’t let the “nice” folks bring you down. Thanks for allowing me to never have to go to work again. It ain’t work when you love doing it.

Oklahoma, 2009

Ann,

Thank you for the DVD and insight on how to run calculations to be profitable in the cattle business. I do well in math and use it all the time to make a profit in the construction industry, but had never been taught how to do it in cattle.

I do want to tell you that my wife was ticked when I bought the $500 DVD but after hearing some of it from the kitchen, she thought this would help make our cattle business profitable. She was watching when you said that the wife should not have to be working, but raising the kids from home when I heard, “PREACH ON, ANN”. Thanks for the help.

Texas, 2009

Ann,

I loved your class, the energy, and profound understanding of the industry.

Florida, 2009

Hi Ann,

Hope and Change!!! I just know you love that saying.....ha ha. But you have given it a whole new meaning for me. The hope and change you gave me at the school is truly "Change I can believe in" and backed by mathematical truth! I learned so much at your school. Everything you were saying about forecasters, hedging, company cattle feeding was exactly what I had been saying since we bought our feedyard 9 years ago, and let me tell you, some of it brought back nightmares.

I am going to bore you for a minute with a little bit of history. When my husband and I bought the feedyard I had just left my job of in town and began doing the books at the feedyard. I really knew nothing about feedyards, other than what my husband would come home and talk about. I had no idea about cost of gain, conversions, the markets, and so on. I couldn't believe that cattle feeders would risk so much when they fed cattle - and this was their business, their one and only income! I would always say it was like gambling. But I would hear in reply, “that’s just the cattle business.” Then when we as a feedyard started feeding cattle and hedging cattle, I would look at those books every day, and I will tell you - it wasn't pretty. In fact it got to the point where we just decided it was better that both of us not work there, the pressure was unbelievable!

Then we were blessed last year when my husband was given the opportunity to go to your school. I remember after the first day he came home and he was telling me all the things you had said. I remember thinking, “finally someone that might make some sense”. I thought to myself, “Hmmm. I wonder what God is up to?” Of course now I know. We have truly been blessed and I think finally after over a year we are going to quit letting fear cripple us and do something with this incredible opportunity that has been given us.

After we saw you at the TSCRA convention we came home and started building some pens at the house so we could really start doing this method. Well, as always seems to happen, we get busy and things don't get done like we had planned. About two weeks ago we went to a "Get Motivated" seminar and listened to some pretty good speakers, but the real reason they had the seminar was to put on infomercials. One was how to get rich in real estate and the other was how to get rich in the stock market. They were very good sales people. But again, God has a way of waking you up. I woke up the next day and thought, “This is crazy.” We are in the cattle business and we have been handed a way to finally start making money and getting out of the hole we had dug ourselves into, and we don't need to jump into something else. I called my husband and said, “We both need to go to Ann's school.”

So that is how I ended up at your school. Isn't it wonderful how God works!! I think it was really good that my husband went through it again too. I think it was good for him to be able to sit and not be distracted by the world and to be able to listen again to the hard cold facts, things he knows, but just needed to hear again from you in the way that you so wonderfully present them!

I just want you to know how thankful I am that you do what you do and the way that you do it. You do an incredible job teaching and I see the passion you have for what you do. It is so refreshing to see honesty and integrity. I will keep in touch and let you know how we progress. I am really excited to get started!

[Ann’s note: Some of the most credible and meaningful praise I receive is from the WIVES of ranchers and cattle feeders. They are a long-suffering group, and are generally very cynical and skeptical when it comes to consultants and brokers. For years they have watched their husbands endure tremendous stress and anxiety without any real relief from the brokers and consultants who they have entrusted to help “manage risk”. So, praise from a feedyard wife is high praise indeed.]

Thanks, Ann, for all you do. The DVD is probably the most valuable education I have had in forty plus years of fooling with cattle.

Texas, 2009

[And you are “fooling” no longer!!]

Hi Ann,

I attended the school in Council Bluffs, Iowa two and half years ago and what a blessing that was. I have also purchased the DVD and that was a great purchase. I watch it not only for a review and a better understanding, but also for encouragement.

Iowa, 2009

Ann,

Thought I would let you know that our son took the course last fall in Regina and said he learned more at that course relating to his farming passion than his 11 years of schooling. He is now done his Grade 12 course requirements and started his first job. We are encouraging him to use his earnings to start the marketing.

Also, we have started with a small purchase of our own this spring and are anxious to get into the sell-buy routine to learn the system hands on and grow it over time. I know very little about cattle but I know numbers and the opportunities are shouting in the numbers out there. My husband knows cattle but knows nothing about numbers and is over-cautious. So I am anxious to prove to him that it does work in real life. His caution has cost us however, as the first buy was delayed from $.80/lb animals to $1.00/lb animals to finally $1.15.lb animals. Through this whole time I just kept saying "It doesn't matter what price you buy at now, you just need to get started someplace. What matters is what you buy back at when you sell!"

I'm looking forward to generating some cash flow so we don't have to sell all our calves in the fall, and then expand the sell-buy more. I know the DVD will help to build my husband's confidence in marketing.

Hi Ann,

My husband and I completed the marketing DVD a few days ago. It is hard to put into words all that went through our minds as we listened or as we made marketing decisions even within the last few days. You had me during the first lesson (even though I am math-phobic and far less knowledgeable of the cattle industry than my husband) but you made the time that we spent together with our kids at the kitchen table unforgettable when you reminded us to pray "Give us this day our daily bread". Amen! Thank you for boldly proclaiming the truth.

Alberta, 2009

Ann,

I just wanted to say I really enjoyed the school and what I learned. WOW. My brain has been turning 120 mph since I left trying to figure out the logistics of my particular situation with the property I am using now for a once a year stocker turn. Thanks again for such a new way to look at the business. I have always thought with the number of stockers I run, “what a huge investment for such a meager return”. I see why now!!!!

Texas, 2009

Hello Ann,

I just can’t tell you how great your DVD is. What a great teacher you are. I was ready to purchase my virgin buy yesterday but we got hit with 1 1/2 ft of snow so we will wait till next week. Thanks again for great information.

Nevada, 2009

Hi Ann,

I have taken your course through the DVD and I found it very easy to follow and full of interesting information. I am getting to understand the method and think it will work very well for me. We really appreciate and identify with your personal slant on the business. Thank you for being so real and honest with your faith and knowledge.

Alberta, 2009

Ann,

Got the postcard advertising the DVD today. We are still so inspired by everything you taught us and we have made (and saved) money by putting it into practice. We will never be able to thank you enough! For the past several years, the drought here has been really bad (enough that many people we know are having to sell out). We are so blessed to have attended marketing school and learned the things we did because we now know how to stay in the game and make things work even in the most dire conditions. We sold our "prized black angus" cow/calf herd and stocked up on feed and pasture when everyone around was telling us how stupid we were, and we bought the cattle that other people weren't interested in. Old habits die hard and we have had to remind ourselves many times that you profit on the buy, but we keep reminding ourselves of that every time we get nervous and it has absolutely proved true. In spite of drought and not being able to graze our government permit (due to drought) we are not just surviving, but THRIVING!!

With heartfelt gratitude,
Kansas, 2009

From “Morgan’s Markets” column by Dan Morgan in The Midwest Marketer, April 11, 2009:

“This past Friday and Saturday, I attended a two-day course, which was cash oriented, and dealt with the buying and marketing of cattle simultaneously. It covered all phases from the cow/calf man to the feedlot and was taught by a young woman who was half courage, very opinionated and very intelligent. The age of the people attending the class was from 17 to 70+. What impressed me the most was everyone was there for the same reason – to become a better marketer, but not everyone’s goal was the same. The diversity of the group made the class very interesting. The course cost $500, and I felt it was one of the better investments I’ve made in the past few years.”

Ann,

I ordered the DVDs this week. Thanks so much for producing this program. I have spent the last week working in Las Vegas and I could hardly wait to get home to start the course. I'm 3 hours into the program and I have chills.

Texas, 2009

Ann,

Thanks so much for producing a DVD and website like this. I hope our success will serve as the appreciation and admiration you sure deserve. I have a business partner in a small feedyard here in California and are so excited about the opportunity to learn these methods and watch your DVD. As you state at the end of the DVD, we are finding it difficult to visit with guys at the saleyards because we indeed talk of different cattle markets. Amazing, absolutely amazing, transformation in thought and philosophy!!

We are working on turning our custom feeding yard into the cash flow machine and "gold mine" that we can now see exists right where we stand every day.

California, 2009

Ann,

Thanks for prompt shipping and good quality DVD. What I have seen so far gives new meaning my father's saying "bought right is half sold".

Iowa, 2009

Ann,

My mother and father are headed to your Edmonton school and I told them to bring their "A GAME” and be ready to be shocked. I am really excited as good marketing is the key to making our operation successful.

Alberta, 2009

Hi Ann,

Thanks for putting faith in our hearts, money in our jeans and hope for our future. I will be able to sleep soundly again.

Alberta, 2009

Hi Ann,

I am sending a check for subscription to the website. Really enjoyed the school in Colby, KS. It sure puts a new perspective on buying when you’re sitting in the salebarn. Anyway, the website is tremendous and a lot of work goes into it.

Kansas, 2009

Ann,

This website is such a Godsend and I use it every day. We have worked for years on borrowed money. Well, things are changing thanks to the Sell/Buy. The end of Fiscal year '07 we were sitting a ($137,000) on our operating loan, at the end of Fiscal year '08 we had sold yearlings and a lot of the cow herd and had replaced all cattle inventory with calves. We had $33,000 cash in the bank, that's a $170,000 positive change in cash!! Cooool, huh?

Nebraska, 2009

Ann,

I attended the marketing school in April '07 in Billings, MT. I was the youngest in my class, and working as a Ranch Manager in Idaho. Out of the schooling I have taken, I would have to say that I haven't been to a better school. I want to thank you for teaching these classes.

Idaho, 2008

Hi Ann,

Just wanted to let you know that we are in that small percentage that are using the marketing system. My husband is spending his evenings working cattle squares and squashes and then plotting and planning with me. Sending our son & daughter-in-law to the seminar and then my son convincing us to go was the best business decision we have made in years. Our banker will have to find someone else to make thousands of $$ in interest off of in a few years.

Nebraska, 2008

Hello Ann,

I’m sending this note to you to thank you again for the wonderful, awesome, incredible livestock marketing class you presented in Cheyenne. The class was a game changer for me, no doubt about it.

Colorado, 2008

Hi Ann,

Thanks for the great weekend. My wife and I enjoyed your lecture. As you know, I went to last year's school and came back. I was smarter this time and I brought my wife, who has no background in ranching. During the class I got many dirty looks from her because she knew that I had done everything you told us not to do. On the way home we had a great talk and for the first time she is truly excited about ranching. So THANK YOU! We are going to make our first purchase this week.

Wyoming, 2008

Hi Ann,

I just wanted to thank you again for an amazing course. My wife and I just attended in Regina, Sask. Let me say again, THAT WAS INSANE! It really makes you shake your head in disbelief how simple these principles are. I went and sat in our local auction barn this week to watch with a different mindset, and yes we will be starting to put our new ideas into practice this Fall.

Thank you again for your help. Ann, you are truly a blessing to the North American livestock industry.

We will be subscribing to your website once our free trial is over.

Saskatchewan, 2008

Ann,

Enjoyed the school, it was great, you are quite a speaker, hard to sleep in your class. Just checked out the website, looks great, even did a little studying today, my brother and I have to get together and work on this, two heads should be better than one!!!!

Saskatchewan, 2008

Ann,

Just wanted to thank you so much for the fantastic seminar in Regina this weekend. Your enthusiasm, common sense and amazing presentation skills were truly riveting. Took us 7 hours to get home here in Alberta today and we talked/marveled about it the whole way home. This was our 15th wedding anniversary "holiday" and we both agree that it was the best "gift" we've given each other in a long time. You've opened (okay, maybe smashed) the door open to some amazing possibilities in the cattle business for us. We are ridiculously eager to get started...going to the local sale barn bright and early Thursday morning to do a dry run. I don't even want to go off to the day job tomorrow as I've got BPCOG numbers to run on what we've got...

Again, thank you so very much for the inspiration...we'll hopefully drop by with some "fun with math" tidbits from up our way.

Alberta, 2008

Ann,

I wanted to thank you for the school you put on in Manhattan, KS. The two boys I brought with me enjoyed it and will be putting some of your methods into play. My oldest boy is setting up his own checking account strictly for cattle trade and has said that pickup money will have to come from his part time job. He has a start from selling his pen of three steers at the county fair. It will be interesting to see what he does.

Yes, we will be subscribing to your service...

Nebraska, 2008

Ann,

Every trade I make using marketing makes me shake my head in disbelief and wonder how I survived before. [Join the club!]

A year ago I was buying 580 bulls, fed them until mid November, went to wheat till late April, sold 1000 pounds steers and “broke even” before I paid myself in 250 days!! Never again.

I keep thinking the WOW factor will go away and I’ll stop writing you, but it adds to the fun I’m having.

Oklahoma, 2008

Ann-

I just wanted to say thank you for coming to Dodge City and putting on the school. I think that I learned more in the two days I was at your school than in my entire education at public schools. You made it very exciting and made it clear to me that success is possible in the cattle industry-- even for women. So again, I just wanted to say thank you and that I am excited to start.

Teenage Girl, Kansas, 2008

Hi Ann,

I just attended the school you put on in Brandon, MB and have to say that you did a great job. Thank you for being such a dynamic and enthusiastic instructor; I didn’t yawn, or day dream one single time in 2 days!

I’m quite keen on the philosophy . . . I plan on using the principles in the future.

Manitoba, 2008

Dear Ann,

The course in Saskatoon changed my whole attitude towards the cattle business. Up to this point, my only involvement with our cow/calf enterprise was to prepare the accounts and fill in Government paperwork. Your course has made me a dangerous person – we have already had two heated arguments about how to apply what you taught. However, unlike other situations when our opinions differ, I understand that what you taught is so important, I am willing to work through any difficulties to make our business profitable.

Loving Wife, Saskatchewan, 2008

Ann,

Thanks for the exceptional class in Saskatoon. I will admit I was very skeptical but determined to have an open mind and to hear what you had to say. I have already recommended the course to all I have spoken to and will continue to do so.

Saskatchewan, 2008

Hello Ann,

Again I would like to thank you for coming to Johnson, KS last week. Hands down, it was the most exhilarating class I have ever attended.

Kansas, 2007

Ann,

I wanted to say thank you for the presentation in Johnson, KS last week. I have not been this excited about our family’s stocker and back grounding operation for a long time. My wife and I have a family meeting set for Tuesday.

I have called all of my cattle customers and strongly encouraged them to enroll in a marketing class.

Kansas, 2007

Ann-

I was in your course in Calgary last January. After making some major changes, as of this past weekend I am in the cattle business. With no family assistance and nobody in either of our immediate families owning a square inch of farmland I have been blessed to be given the opportunity to get into the game. It is a long-time dream and I am thankful for the tools your course provided. As I sat in the auction mart buying I thought that I couldn't imagine the nerves and tension involved if I was sitting there buying animals based on emotion and my best guesses as to the future.

I bought bred cows and I used the grid to come up with a $400/cow figure. I averaged $370/cow and considering that I was fairly impressed with the quality of animals available in that range. Thanks again for a well presented course.

Alberta, 2007

I enrolled my husband in the marketing school held in Tulsa last weekend. I must tell you, he wasn't too pleased with me for spending that kind of money on something he thought would be useless. He was of a completely different attitude when I met back up with him that first evening! He was completely impressed and EXCITED about the logic involved and ease of marketing this school taught.

Thank you so very much!!

Ann,

...I took the course in Regina on Sept 21-22, 2007. After the course, I figured that I had better try this out, so at the next sale I bought 14 head. Last week I sold 5 head and replaced them at a $40.00 profit above and beyond my BPCOG. This was so easy to make that everyone thinks I am NUTS. Thank you again and I look forward to taking another school in the near future.

[There is a lot of pessimism and worry in Canada right now, but we must remember that for the skilled marketer, times like these can be the opportunity of a lifetime. When the mainstream is saying that a market is “bad”, that almost always means that huge profits are available. We just have to know where to look!]

Ann,

I attended the marketing school in Cheyenne last week, and I'd like to say that was the most professional, clear, and interesting presentation I have ever witnessed. Well Done!

Nebraska, 2007

Ann-

I just wanted to send you a quick message thanking you for putting on the conference in Cheyenne. I really learned a great deal and can not wait to start using the new knowledge I gained.

Hello Ann,

I have wanted to email you many times over the last couple of years to let you know how things are working for us, but I know that you are very busy and thought one less email was helpful. Sell/Buy is still awesome! We started by selling some cows and moving into the stocker market and now we are up to 130 head and hope to keep it there with sell/buying every 1 -2 months. To add a real personal note, we have been in the process over the last year and a half (shortly after taking the course in Edmonton) of adopting two boys from Ethiopia. We are traveling there at the end of the month to bring them home. The most amazing thing is that every time money was due for fees, we did a sell/buy and we were able to pay everything on time. I can honestly say that I am so glad that the Lord is in control.....I laugh when I think of how often we think that we are.

Saskatchewan, 2007

[I am never too busy for email! It might take me a few days to respond if I am super-busy, but I always want to hear from you! I’ll put the two boys down for my Saskatoon school in the year 2022!]

Ann-

Thanks for a great class and the opportunity to expand my marketing skills and move away from a production mentality.

Texas, 2007

Ann-

That was awesome!! Thank you for sharing that with us. It was a life changing seminar for me. All these years it was buy calves, put on 200-300#, sell, wait for wheat, buy 4 weights, sell in May. I try to sleep but I just keep running those numbers, figuring those returns on the gain, breakprofit costs of gain, figuring what is undervalued or overvalued. It is exciting. I can't wait...

Ann-

Once again, thanks for the wonderful class in Fort Worth. This class will help me get started in the cattle business with confidence. I grew up on a livestock operation, got a degree in agriculture, and watched my dad go bankrupt, not once, but twice. This scared me away from it and sent me into manufacturing industry. I have longed to get back into it and with this simple information, I plan to.

Texas, 2007

Ann-

What a dynamic learning experience on July 13 & 14. I've grown up in the cattle business without knowing what the business is all about until you showed me the way. It's taken 60 plus years to find "the secret" and I plan to utilize it to the fullest.

My sincere appreciation for a great learning experience.

Texas, 2007

Ann -

Thanks again for your excellent presentation in Fort Worth. The information you provided was very significant to me in that it produced a paradigm shift in how I think about the cattle markets.

Texas, 2007

Ann,

I feel like a kid with a new toy that I can’t wait to play with. I’m excited to begin to “play with” the marketing skills you revealed to me. Thank you for giving your time to educate our youth, they are the only hope we have for a strong cattle industry in the future. I would like to get my 16 year old son into your school at some point.

Ann,

This is the greatest thing since buttered bread.

Kansas, 2007

Ann,

You may have to add to your curriculum instruction on what we are to do with all our free time since we don't spend our days staring at our computer screen or listening to the radio for the markets or the latest ramblings of some broker. I can't join in on the conversation at the coffee shop and my wife says we just don't talk anymore. I may have to look for a hobby.

Kansas, 2007

Ann,

I really enjoyed the school last week; everyone needs to attend more than one. It not only reinforces the ideas and smoothes out the rough spots, but once you have tried sell-buy marketing and see that it does work you are able to absorb more information.

Kansas, 2007

Ann-

People have a hard time letting go of the $500 because they don’t understand how useful this course is. I have tried to explain to people that it costs $750 to take a 3 hour grad course in something like statistics – which has nothing to do with anything, but they can’t relate. I don’t know what to tell people to make them understand.

Kansas, 2007

[Don’t sweat it. People come to a school when they are ready to come. Some folks will never come, no matter what. It really is an emotional dynamic that has to be allowed to play itself out, person by person.]

Ann-

Thank you so much. My brother and I had given up on the cattle market and we had been looking for a way to sell or rent out the lot. You opened up a whole new adventure into these markets. Our banker was once a cattle feeder, is now very excited to start again and very ready to send other customers.

Kansas, 2007

Ann-

You are truly blessed with talent as a motivational speaker and educator. I do not recall ever getting choked up and teary-eyed at a business meeting. Your presentation of these ideas really brought a lot of things I've gathered and used from old-timers together. I've always spent a lot of time on the swap and looking for the advantages it offers, you've gave me more to work with. You will be hearing from me a lot.

Kansas, 2007

Ann,

First off I was to thank you for the great marketing workshop you put on in Council Bluffs in December. The information was exciting and eye opening for business and profits. My brother and I learned a lot and are excited about being in the cattle business.

Ann,

[My wife] didn’t think much of it when I spent the $500 on the class in Kansas City, however NOW it’s the best money I ever invested . . . She always believed I never told anybody about the class because I was embarrassed. She now realizes it’s my advantage over everyone else.

Ann-

Thank you for your wonderful schools and this fabulous website. I would feel totally naked without it.

Nebraska, 2007

I possess two Masters' degrees (library science and English lit) and have taught at the college and university levels. I also spent 8 years in the Marine Corps. Consequently, I have seen a great deal of instructional periods. Considering that, I wish to say that the quality of your work/presentation is excellent and you rank very high, in my estimation, as an instructor. Thank you for your time and knowledge.

California, 2007

I've been to a lot of schools and this one picked up the financial/marketing end that the others didn't hit on...or even touch!! You helped complete the circle of operation in my opinion! MANY THANKS and I will be calling with questions as I get into it!!

Oklahoma, 2007

Ann,

I wanted to thank you for a wonderful marketing school. I definitely learned more practical information that will set me up for life in two days than in three years of college!

Hi Ann!!

I attended the school at Calgary, AB on Jan 26 & 27. Just wanted you to know this is excellent knowledge for our young backgrounding operation in Alberta and we are already selling our most overpriced cattle and gettin' ‘em replaced handily with profit!! Thanks very much for the very positive boost!

Alberta, 2007

Hi Ann

Thanks for the great workshop in Calgary. Yours certainty was the push I needed. I have some steers selling at the auction this afternoon, and can't wait to get in and buy back. Two of the boys from the Youth Ranch came with me and are already encouraged by what we are doing. One of them even asked me at the auction, "how much money would we make if we bought that one at that price?” He's already got it figured out that we make money on the buy, very exciting.

Alberta, 2007

Hi Ann,

I just wanted to thank you for the course this weekend in Calgary.

I never believed people when they said that one cannot make money with cattle. Thank you for showing me a way to prove them wrong! I am not one to go with the crowd so I am anxious to do this and see what they say.

Alberta, 2007

Ann-

Thank you for the marketing class at Yuma. You gave my young ag econ major cousin a new HOPE and perspective. For that we are grateful.

Kansas, 2006

Ann,

Is this real or have I crossed over with Dorothy and Toto to Oz?

California, 2006

Hi Ann,

I attended your school in Council Bluffs this past weekend. I just wanted to thank you for opening my eyes. This way of marketing has eliminated the pain in my stomach that comes from worrying about whether a profit will happen. We have to speculate enough with the grain market (we farm 4,500 acres, half corn, half soybeans) so this really eases the stress and puts the fun and confidence back in the cattle business for me. You have a great way of teaching, you are a natural.

Iowa, 2006

Hi Ann-

As far as making money in the cattle business, I have never been this excited and confident about anything in my life. EVER. Thank you Ann for doing what you do.

Iowa, 2006

Ann

I would like to thank you for the school in Council Bluffs. The lights finally came on just before dinner Saturday and I believe I can do this.

Thank you again for your school. The concept of just working inside a market has my head spinning. What a relief it would be to not worry about what I can’t control. I have only ever wanted two things; to be successful in the cattle business, and raise my kids to be better than I am. I am excited to come back to another school in the future and bring both of them along.

Nebraska, 2006

Dear Ann:

You did a wonderful presentation in Austin, Texas. I appreciate you giving mature teenagers free tuition.

Texas, 2006

Ann,

I want to thank you for the class in Seattle. . . . since graduating from high school in 1982, the cattle business is all I have ever wanted to do, but I couldn’t find a way to do it. This is the way. I told my wife when I got back from Seattle that outside of accepting Christ as my Savior, marrying her and having our daughter three months ago, attending this school is the fourth best thing to happen to me in my life.

Idaho, 2006

Hello, Ann -

Thanks again for a well-presented and informative workshop.

Wyoming, 2006

Ann,

My son and I thought you gave an excellent presentation of the materials, very smooth, no searching around for words or stammering. Your material flowed and you didn't read every word on the slides, they emphasized what you were saying and helped us keep up but didn't distract.

Oklahoma, 2006

Hello Ann,

I would like to start by thanking you for bringing and teaching these marketing methods back to Canada. I am glad I took the Saskatoon school. I just wish I had learned this method years ago, it would have saved a lot of money, and made a lot of money!

Saskatchewan, 2006

Hi Ann,

I recently attended your school in Nisku, AB. It was a spur of the moment decision that I am greatly thankful for. The paradigm shift is huge and I wasn't sure how my husband would respond with everything. Praise the Lord, for he tells me that this gives him a great peace and he is excited to get started. As a matter of fact, we have some overvalued stock that he has already booked to sell. We have a general idea of our BPCOG, but I am furiously trying to get an exact number to work with. We want to live our life giving credit to the One who is all knowing and this style of marketing allows us to run the business doing just that. Your positive energy is a ray of hope and a blessing when surrounded by discouraged farmers.

Saskatchewan, 2006

Ann,

. . . That was the best $500 I have ever spent.

Ann,

I've been a CPA for 20 years and must have 40 hours per year of continuing education every year to maintain my license. I've also attended countless seminars, courses and presentations in the banking, trust, and investment banking areas in my 29 year business career.

That said, I have never attended a seminar wherein I left the conference with such excitement and anxiety to put what was learned to work as when I left the conference in Florida nor have I had the feeling that what I learned can actually be put to use in a productive and profitable way. I actually crunched numbers on the plane back to NM.

As a "numbers" guy having been involved in hundreds of millions of dollars in public finance transactions over the past 15 years and in advising clients in business matters prior to that, the relative simplicity and the potential results to be gained by implementing and working the program is probably the best tool I've been presented in any context.

I look forward to the exchange of ideas - I just wish I had made it to an earlier class. Oh, well - I guess that's just water under the bridge just like the amounts I PAID for what's in my inventory!

Dear Ann,

This has been the most valuable experience we have had in terms of applying real-world economics to our ranch and being able to determine our income.

Alberta, 2006

Dear Ann,

Your enthusiasm in combination with the incredible logic has given me a new lease on the cattle business.

My mind has been spinning since I started learning this great stuff!
